Our Executive Team
Sean Martin
Sean Martin, a native of Ireland and graduate of Dublin City University, immigrated to New York City in 1986 to embark on a profession in hospitality and communications. Sean began his career as the General Manager of Aglio E Olio, an upscale a la carte restaurant in the heart of Midtown. In 1991, he took an unrivaled opportunity to oversee operations for an onsite catering hall in Queens, NY where he immersed himself in planning and executing catered events. Concurrently, Sean owned and operated a restaurant in the Flushing neighborhood of Queens and a bar in Sunnyside.
In 2000, Sean’s ambitions brought him to Between the Bread, a premier New York City catering establishment. With his innovative methods, creative menus and strong interpersonal relationships, Sean quickly rose from Head of Sales to Director of Operations. For 20 years, Sean built his reputation as one of the city’s premiere corporate event planners.
With a dynamic understanding of catered events and celebrations, Sean is excited to join the hospitality team of Blake & Todd as Managing Director to launch BT Events NYC, a new full service catering entity. With this new collaboration, Sean’s goal is to provide a wider range of pragmatic catering solutions from individual meal drop-offs to large scale event management.
Alex Rachowin
Alex Rachowin immigrated to New York City from Russia in the 1970s in search of the American Dream. After working for some time at Hebrew National, Alex shifted gears to become an entrepreneur in the food and hospitality industry. He opened his first restaurant in NYC in 1984 and Blake & Todd in 1995. With the inception of Blake & Todd, Alex sought to feed the everyday New Yorker with fresh, authentically prepared foods.
Blake & Todd has been at the forefront of New York City corporate catering and food services for over 25 years. When you walk into his restaurant, Alex is welcoming you into his kitchen — and while he does not prepare the cuisine himself, he would never serve a meal that he would not enjoy. Blake & Todd is inspired by the diversity of New York City and is proud to serve hearty, clean and wholesome foods with a holistic approach to flavor.
Israel Sosa
Israel Sosa was born and raised in Manhattan and attended the University of Binghamton. After completing his education, Israel returned to Manhattan where he launched himself into a career in food and hospitality management. In the 1990s, Israel rose through the ranks as Catering Manager for Zaro’s Bread Basket and then continued on to Burke & Burke as General Manager.
In 2000, Israel was presented with the opportunity to join Blake & Todd as the General Manager. Today, he is an intricate team member who oversees daily operations, from culinary in the kitchen to customer service in the front of the house. Israel is best known for being a grounded team leader while remaining committed to Blake & Todd’s emphasis on customer service for its diverse clientele. Israel actively works on improving, developing and implementing catering & restaurant standards for excellence.
